The Toja Grid offers a modern approach to style & design along with affordability, quick assembly, and quality craftsmanship.
- *Key Note* 4x4 is a size reference. The most common wood is actually 3.5" x 3.5" with rounded edges. Some types have sharp edges or are a true 4"x4" and will not fit. Also note that fresh pressure treated wood or wet wood will be swollen, we advise installing with dry wood
- *TIP* - we often take a solo bracket with us when purchasing lumber, slide it on the ends of the wood to ensure proper fit
- Metal Parts:
- 14 gauge zinc coated steel
- 10 year outdoor powder coating
- #12 wood screws included
- Shade Fabric:
- 100% Synthetic HDPE (high density polyethylene) knitted fabric
- 8 year fade resistance, easy to wash and keep clean
- Stain resistant and will not mold or mildew
- Strong tension straps and buckles to pull the shade tight and flat
- 5 minutes to take down for winter / major storms
- All hardware included to attach to wood
- *Note* the unfolded size will seem small, if you're checking the size, please pull the shade as tight as you can and then measure it

What type of wood should I use?

Any standard dry straight 4x4 wood will work. Our products were made to assemble with standard 8ft, 10ft and 12ft lengths available at most lumber yards.

Note: 4x4 wood is in fact 3.5” x 3.5” - the industry simply calls it 4x4.

We suggest cedar, however pressure-treated, engineered, tiger wood, and even IPE will work.
What are the outside dimensions?
-
For Pergolas: add 10”, this 10" includes the cavity in the brackets as well as the 1" flange on the SOLO (where the securing screws go)

For Hammocks: The outside dimensions are 104"x104", height is at your discretion, however, suggest to build a cube, simply looks cool.

If you're building a double or larger structure, please add 3.75" for each additional quad or quint added. ***NOTE, this additions if for the footprint, not the wood used***
SHADE - How long are the straps?
-
All lot of customers are asking about custom sizes. Please note that the shade straps can extend the shade up to 8" more than it's intended size.

What is the shade made of?
-
Our shades are made of HDPE, the same resilient material used to produce heavy-duty storage totes. Toja Grid shades are made with monofilament and tape construction, as well as knitted and pre-stretched to provide a strong long-lasting shade.

Buckles are added every 3 to 4 feet, and each buckle has a 100 lb. tension capacity to pull the shade tight and hold up to the elements.

Please take shades down in high winds and winter.
Are the shades waterproof?
-
No, they are not. They will stop a misting, but rain will pass through.

Shades block 85%+ of UVA / UVB rays.
-
Toja Grid shades also reduce wind, only letting 15% of air pass through.
What hardware to do I need to buy?
-
All the hardware you need is included in each box to connect our brackets to the 4x4 wood posts.

The only hardware you need is the securing hardware, as we do not know where you will install your structure.
I’m buying the QUAD and I only need 2 SOLO’s but they only come in a 4 pack.

The Quad includes the 2 SOLO’s, and all the hardware.

Note that the Quad 1 pack, also comes with 2 SOLO's
Do you do custom sizes?
